About the Item

This is a superb quality pair of pitch pine country farmhouse spindle-back cane-seated kitchen armchairs, dating from circa 1880, and they are in good condition. Their exceptional quality is matched by a fantastic colour that enhances their appeal. The armchairs feature a prominent shaped top rail, flanked by two upright supports adorned with simple finials. Below, a bank of finely turned spindles is secured by two horizontal rails. The cane seats are also in good condition, offering both comfort and style. The base of the chairs showcases lovely turned legs with a pair of bulbous-shaped front stretchers. The front stretcher is heavy and turned, indicating a high standard of craftsmanship. Additionally, the chairs are reinforced with twin connecting turned H-stretchers, ensuring stability and sturdiness. These armchairs would complement any home, particularly in the kitchen or dining room. They are not only functional but also a great investment, making them a wonderful addition to your decor. This set of country armchairs showcases stunning grain configurations and a warm colour, all in good original condition. Made in England circa 1860, the seat height of the chairs is 45 cm.
