About the Item

A charming pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. patinated wood armchairs. Each chair is raised by elegant tapered cabriole legs with Fine scrolled feet and beautiful richly carved foliate carvings at each corner. The most decorative scalloped shape frieze and sides are centered by striking finely detailed seashell reserves and display Fine fillets which also extend along each leg. The arms display most unique scrolled branch like details with richly carved foliate designs. The cushioned back supports are also finished on the back. All original patina throughout.
