About the Item

A beautiful pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. patinated wood armchairs. Each "bergères à oreilles" armchair is raised by elegant cabriole legs with richly carved scrolled foliate designs with a lovely fillet leading up each side and along the scalloped frieze centered by remarkable carved blooming flowers and foliate movements. The upholstered sides and back are decorated in the same manner with the scrolled cushioned arms displaying a beautiful mottled design leading up to a delicate central reserve of finely carved blooming flowers. All original patina throughout.
