About the Item

The mid-20th century marked a golden era for Italian interior design. Amidst a booming economy and a newfound sense of optimism, Italian designers began to explore and experiment with form and function, and create iconic pieces that defined the entire period. Resulting from this era, are timeless pieces of classic design that remain highly sought after and appreciated to this day. This pair of armchairs combine remarkable style with balance, functionality and premium materials. Rattan, used for everything from basket weaving to furniture making had found extensive use and appreciation in the context of modern 20th century design. Thanks to its unique characteristics, rattan adds an element of texture and lightness, contributing to the overall visual balance of the pair. The chairs benefit further from the sturdy wooden frame which grounds the design. Not only do the materials complement each other, but the shades of brown, and textural variety go perfectly together, adding depth to the design.
