Rare Dutch Folk Art High Back Armchair Decorated with Carefully Arranged Twigs
About the Item
A rare Dutch high back armchair with a crest rail in the form of a cross bow above a pierced splat flanked by rectilinear stiles over down-scrolled arms. The square seat is centered by a stylized floral motif with a circular medallion and the whole is raised on tapering supports. The entire chair is decorated with meticulously arranged twigs. Some discoloration, replacements and restorations. Circa 1870. Provenance: Ed Hardy, San Francisco
