Set of Four English George II Period Walnut Side Chairs with Shelled Carved Legs

About the Item

A set of 4 English George II period walnut side chairs of good scale, the undulating crestrail above a vasiform splat with carved volutes, terminating in a balloon seat with drop-in cushions. The cabriole legs are accented by well-carved shells at the knees ending in pad feet. Provenance: From a Northern California estate, circa 1730.
