Set of Six Italian 18th Century Polychrome and Giltwood Venetian Armchair

About the Item

A beautiful and complete set of six Italian 18th century polychrome and giltwood Venetian armchairs. Each dark apricot colored polychrome armchair is raised by elegant cabriole legs with a fine giltwood fillet, which extends along the arbalest shaped frieze. The frieze is decorated by a lovely giltwood reeded central reserve and fine scrolled movements, which are repeated at each side. Above a mottled giltwood band are the most decorative scrolled arms which lead up to the upholstered back support. All with the same decorative scrolled design and giltwood fillets. Each armchair is "À Chassis", which signifies that the upholstery is easily removed and changed for every season. All original gilt and finish throughout.
