About the Item

"King Cole" armchairs, circa 1955. About the designer: James Mont (1904 - 1978) was active/lived in New York, New Jersey / Turkey. He is known for Furniture and interior design. James Mont is synonymous with the Hollywood Regency design of the 40's and 50's. He was born Demetrios Pecintoglu in 1904 in Isanbul to a Greek-Turkish family. The family emigrated to the United States in 1922. Mont eventually settled in Brooklyn, NY and opened an electrical supply shop where he purportedly began selling lamps to a Brooklyn mobster. Thus began Mont's career and lifelong connection with notorious clients, for whom he produced lavish furnishings to match their larger-than-life personalities and expensive tastes. They are super-comfortable armchairs made in the 1960s. The armchair made of bentwood. Very unique and beautiful. Perfect for Minimalist interiors. The armchair is after carpentry and upholstery renovation. The fabric used is a dark green velvet -3D effect, high durability, nice to the touch, width range of colors. We can prepare this armchair also in another color of wood and velvet. Please check the last pictures with color samples. Here set of two is available.
