A Pair of Upholstered Bergere Armchairs on Castors American of Martinsville Produced in the Mid-1970s Founded in 1906, American of Martinsville was founded by Virginia tobacco producers and produces bedroom furniture. In the early 1920s the company began adding dining room and other styles. By the 1950s, American of Martinsville's reputation for design was well known. Vintage American of Martinsville furniture remains popular today. Ideal for dining table use or for semi outdoor orangery rooms.
