About the Item

An early version of the Aslak Chair from the Finnish manufacturer Asko after a draft by Ilmari Tapiovaara from the late 50s. The chair was reissued by Artek in 2020. A functional design with a complex construction. The frame is made up of countless elements, some of which are simply screwed, partly connected via elaborate wooden compounds. This complex construction gives special stability and at the same time shapes the shape of the chair to a large extent. The seat and the backrest are made of molded wood. The completely monochrome design in a strong red tone is striking. This piece has an attribution mark.
