Superb Bronze Mounted Eagle French Empire Mahogany Empire Daybed Chaise
About the Item
There are daybeds and then there are MASTERPIECES posing as daybeds! This is a decadent and absolutely superior piece with crisp, naturalistic eagles and paw feet and the more usual anthemia cast bronze ormolu. The bronze is done in gold Dore' finish and the frame is beautifully detailed and completely original. The piece wears older, stained upholstery and is otherwise in good condition with minor signs of age and use. The piece dates to the 1850s era and is French. Measures 59.25 wide x 34.5 tall x 27.25 deep and seat height is 17 inches.
