About the Item
A very unique and extremely refined set of sixteen Italian early 19th century Louis XVI st. ebony and giltwood dining chairs. Each elegant chair is raised on tapered legs accented with giltwood carved acanthus leaves and top cap. At the straight frieze is a giltwood twisted rope design flanked by rosette blocks at each corner. The magnificent tapered pierced ebony back is decorated by running laurel wreath and rosette diamond giltwood designs accented at each corner with rosettes. At the top is a acanthus leaf giltwood element centered by giltwood finials. All upholstered in a silver gray silk. nnArmchair dimensions H: 38.75" L: 22.25" D: 21"
