About the Item

Pair of P4 Catilina chairs, designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni for Azucena Milano in 1962. This rare first edition features a distinctive curved steel frame, with the seat directly attached to the structure, emphasizing the designer’s commitment to purity of form and timeless elegance. The chairs have been carefully restored and artisanally reupholstered in a richly textured fabric, enhancing both their comfort and visual appeal while respecting the authenticity of the original design. With their clean lines and upright posture, the Catilina chairs embody a classical balance that seamlessly integrates into both modern and traditional interiors. Luigi Caccia Dominioni (1913–2016) was a key figure in the evolution of Italian modern design. Architect, designer, and co-founder of Azucena in 1947, he redefined furniture with his elegant and functional approach, blending artisanal craftsmanship with formal innovation. Today, his creations are celebrated as icons of 20th-century Italian design, sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts worldwide.
