About the Item
A French decorative Napoleon III style giltwood rope stool in the manner of A.M.E Fournier, with a circular seat upholstered in a modern jaguar velvet fabric. Resting on four carved twisted rope-like legs ending in tassel feet, the stool presents a characteristic knotted stretcher after a design by Fournier, one of the leading upholsterers during the Second Empire in France, circa 1860. This original form coupled with the ethnic upholstery is emblematic of Napoleon III style and eclecticism. This French decorative giltwood rope stool from the 20th century would bring an exotic touch and particularly accent any room.
