About the Item

An Italian ‘Alky’ chair designed by Giancarlo Piretti for Castelli in 1969. The sculptural, modern design was exhibited with the Piretti Collection at NeoCon in 1988. This chair has been freshly reupholstered in textured gray boucle fabric and features an aluminum footed base with plastic gliders. This piece looks amazing from every angle and floats beautifully in a seating area. It’s versatile, comfortable, and a fantastic size. Giancarlo Piretti was an Italian Furniture Designer born in Bologna in 1940. There he trained at the Istituto Statale d'Arte until 1960. Giancarlo Piretti served as the head designer for Anonima Castelli for many years. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. This chair has been freshly reupholstered by our team of restorationists in textured gray boucle fabric with new medium density foam. Light patina to the metal base.
