Phillip Lloyd Powell Rare High Back Lounge Chair Early-1960s

Rare high back lounge chair with frame in sculpted walnut with black leather seat and back cushions by Phillip Lloyd Powell, American early-1960’s. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are superb. Newly refinished and reupholstered in black calfskin with new webbing by Lobel Modern. Reference: Paul Evans, Crossing Boundaries and Crafting Modernism by Constance Kimmerle, Arnoldsche Art Publishers published in 2014. There is a photo of this model chair shown on page 23.
