About the Item

This unique rocking chair was made by Jacob & Josef Kohn, one of the most renowned bentwood furniture manufacturers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, known for cooperating with architects of the Art Nouveau era. Made of bent beechwood using traditional steam-bending technique, it boasts an elegant and lightweight form. The backrest features a beautifully shaped openwork insert, adding subtle lightness and a classic character. The chair has undergone professional restoration, preserving its original charm while regaining full functionality and durability. The wood was cleaned and finished with wax that gave it natural finishing touch. Original paper label was preserved in very good condition. The natural wood tones highlight the timeless appeal of this exceptional design, making it a perfect addition to both classic and contemporary interiors. An ideal choice for lovers of bentwood furniture, Art Nouveau style, and elegant collectible pieces with soul.
