About the Item

Stool S31 (model A) designed by Pierre Chapo around 1960 and manufactured by Chapo Création in France. Solid elmwood finished in naturel oil. Excellent original condition and signed by manufacture stamp. The wood drawing and grain of the stool that will be delivered may differ from the image shown in this listing. Contact us iif you would like to receive photos of the stools in stock. This stool can also be ordered in solid oak and / or in three different heights : 45, 55 and 73 cm. Currently 1 stool in stock. If not in stock the lead time is ± 1 month. Please contact is advance for time sensitive orders. Pierre Chapo was born in a family of craftsmen. After his regular studies, he worked in the workshop of a navy carpenter. He graduated as architect in 1958 from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, after having travelled in the United States and in Europe. He opened his own workshop first in Clamart as well a gallery in Paris. Chapo's work was inspired by Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé. Ten years later he settled down in Gordes, where he based the Société Chapo. He then dedicated himself mainly to his work as a carpenter and a cabinetmaker and gave a series of lectures about his great passion, wood.
