Giuseppe Rivadossi for Officina Rivadossi, trunk / side bench / side table, walnut, Italy, 1980s Giuseppe Rivadossi once again proves his great eye for materialization and technicality this blanket chest is exemplary for. A remarkable aspect of this piece is the intricately carved front, showcasing chequered and floral motifs, making it truly exceptional. The wooden surface visualizes the artist’s hand and his movement to treat the wood with the use of intensive hand-planed and trimmed techniques. A real masterpiece that will stand the test of time and serve as a standout in one's interior. Giuseppe Rivadossi (1935) was born in Monteclana di Nave, Italy, where he still lives and works. At a young age, Rivadossi's path begins with wood carving, with works reflecting on his poetic idea of living. In 1962, Rivadossi took over the carpentry founded in 1920 by his father Clemente, which he transformed into an atelier, or rather a creative workshop. Eventually, Rivadossi and collaborators established 'Officina Rivadossi' in 1976 where he started the manufacture of wooden objects and unique modern furniture. Please note that this item is in used condition with signs of wear and use, such as some deformations and dents in the wood. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftsman and -women in our own in-house restoration atelier.
