1860s-1910s Japanese antique 2 tier Large Mizuya tansu chest wabi sabi organic

About the Item

This large 2 tier Mizuya tansu / side board, is a product of 1860s - 1910s (Meiji period), estimate from the style & conditions. Originally made with traditional wood joinery without metal fastener. The sliding doors, drawer faces & structural parts are made of the thick, quality Keyaki (Japanese Zelkova) hardwood. It's still durable enough for actual use. The lower tier is slightly taller, 0.78 inches (20mm) than upper tier. Top boards are tough enough for putting something heavy, can be used both vertically stacked & using separately. Height of each tier : upper 32.08 in (815mm), lower 32.87 in (835mm) - 65.15 in (1655mm) when stacked.
