About the Item

A stunning and most impressive French 19th century Louis XVI st. giltwood and white Carrara marble vitrine cabinet. The two door cabinet is raised by an elegant and richly carved bottom band with a most decorative lattice design and lovely floral rosettes. At the center is a pair of doors each retaining their original glass panes framed in fine Coeur de Rai borders and flanked by beautiful column like supports with fine floral rosettes and charming finely carved flowers. The doors are separated by a lovely and most unique carved foliate band and open to reveal the single shelf with an overlapping carved giltwood band at the front. At each side are the original beautiful curved glass panes framed in the same manner. Fine beaded and foliate bands extend along the apron decorated with superb large seashell carvings and an impressive fluted central reserve. Above is the original white Carrara marble top.
