French 19th Century Louis XVI Style Mahogany, Ormolu and Marble Vitrine
About the Item
A most elegant French 19th century Louis XVI st. mahogany, ormolu and Sarrancolin marble vitrine buffet. The buffet is raised by fine circular tapered fluted feet below striking fluted columns that lead upwards flanking the doors. The doors retain their original glass panes framed within mottled mahogany borders, ormolu keyhole escutcheons and open to reveal one adjustable shelf. Each curved mahogany side displays a most decorative mottled recessed band framing and showcasing the beautiful wood grain. At the frieze are two drawers each decorated with finely tied ribbons and foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons. Above is the original beautiful Sarrancolin marble top with a fine mottled border.
