French Louis XVI Style Vernis Martin Decorated Giltwood Vitrine
About the Item
A 19th century French Louis XIV style Vernis Martin vitrine with hand painted panels, cast bronze mounts and curved glass. Raised on cabriole legs with foliate cast brass trim throughout. Giltwood construction with single door opening to interior with mirrored back and two shaped glass shelves. Warm copper tones with courting scenes and floral details. Distressed finish with some paint loss, but structurally sound and tight. Circa 1880-1900
