French Louis XVI Style Vernis Martin Decorated Giltwood Vitrine

About the Item

A 19th century French Louis XIV style Vernis Martin vitrine with hand painted panels, cast bronze mounts and curved glass. Raised on cabriole legs with foliate cast brass trim throughout. Giltwood construction with single door opening to interior with mirrored back and two shaped glass shelves. Warm copper tones with courting scenes and floral details. Distressed finish with some paint loss, but structurally sound and tight. Circa 1880-1900 27"W x 14.5"D x 56"H Contact us for a competitive shipping quotation.     A superb quality palatial French Louis XVI style ormolu mounted, satinwood, kingwood parquetry and Vernis Martin style paneling three-door raised Vitrine Display Cabinet attributed to Paul Sormani (1817-1877). The Vernis Martin Panels signed "V. Gossen." The lower part of the cabinet with three frieze drawers supported by two square-sectioned on tapered legs, fronting an ormolu mounted parquetry back panel, on toupie feet.
