Italian Mid-18th Century Genovese St. Hand Painted Cabinet / Desk

About the Item

A beautiful and most decorative Italian mid 18th century Genovese st. hand painted cabinet/desk. The desk is raised by lovely scalloped serpentine shaped supports below two lovely hand painted doors and a single drawer each displaying wonderfully executed colorful floral and foliate designs and retaining their original foliate iron keyhole escutcheons. The doors open to reveal a superb and most charming blue interior showcasing all of the original iron hardware and impressive locks and a drawer. The writing surface at the center displays additional wonderfully executed hand painted floral designs and a lovely mottled polychrome border. Above are two bifold doors also decorated with additional exceptional hand painted flowers and which open to reveal the blue interior, all the original hardware and curvaceous shelves all below the lovely scalloped shaped top crown. All original hardware, paint, and patina throughout. Top dimensions: H: 60.75" L: 50.5" D: 13". Base dimensions: H: 31.5" L: 49.25".
