About the Item

Rare cabinet in dark stained pinewood by Göran Malmvall for Svensk Fur. Pair of doors with relief decor. 4 shelves with dovetail joints. Original key included. Göran Malmvall (1917-2001) was a Swedish cabinetmaker and furniture designer who was educated at Carl Malmstensskolan. He was the youngest son of Karl Andersson, the founder of the furniture company Karl Andersson & Söner Möbelfabrik. Göran Malmvall was active in the company from his youth until 1982 and mainly held the role of furniture designer. His background as a carpenter with technical know-how and an openness to exploring new solutions soon made him an important designer at KA. His design career was characterized by simplicity and functionality, and he was known for his popular pine furniture, including sports cottage furniture.
