About the Item
A sensational and most elegant pair of Italian early 19th century Neo-Classical st. ebonized Fruitwood, Mahogany, Giltwood and Ormolu commodes. This exceptional pair of chests are raised by cylindrical tapered legs below the cut corners of the commodes. The cut angled corners have a tapered circular ebonized Fruitwood columns with bottom carved feet while at the top are charming busts of open winged cherubs. At the front are three drawers with a central protruding Mahogany panel framed within a flame Mahogany border. The three large scale drawers are elegantly decorated by circular Ormolu drawer pulls and keyhole escutcheons. Above is a curved flame Mahogany drawer below the white marble tops with mottled borders.
