A large and most impressive antique country American farm house painted kitchen cupboard with beautifully aged warm rustic heavily distressed chippy paint patina! Born in the United States in the mid-19th century, most likely the Mid-Atlantic region, probably rural Pennsylvania, featuring primitive hand-crafted very heavy solid wood construction, having a tall narrow rectangular wooden case with two pairs of panelled cabinet doors, opening to shelved interior, with a plank boarded back and the original heavily worn paint finish. circa 1840-1860 Simple form, clean lines, massive size and proportions, and heavily weathered chippy paint patina make this a fascinating and functional statement piece! Dimensions: (approx.) 87.5" High, 47.5" Wide, 15" Deep Provenance / Acquisition: Acquired from highly reputable auction house, Bright Star Antiques Co., Sulfur Springs, Texas. Specializing in early American antiques, architectural elements, industrial general store and Americana advertising for over thirty years. Condition: Great original unrestored antique condition with highly desirable heavily worn organically distressed patina over the whole. Wear consistent with age and indicative of use. Very strong, sturdy, stable, and structurally sound.
