An early 19th century Gillows Ladies writing desk or Bonheur de Jour. Raised on 4 reeded legs and waterfall open shelves to the upper with faux bamboo supports. The single drawer retains the original pulls and hardware and reveals a small writing slope and storage compartments. The drawer stamped Gillow of Lancaster. English c1820
