Unusual 18th-19th Century Continental Secretary Bookcase

About the Item

Figured wood veneer, the top with a carved cornice over double doors. They open to two shelves over drawers and cubby holes. A middle frieze with three drawers (lacking a key) over the lower projecting case with slant front with green felt writing surface. Three long drawers with foliate brass knob pulls. Tapering column supports with carved rosettes on the bottom, raised on turned turnip feet. The lower case with recessed side panels. Measures: Width. 43 1/4", Depth 22", Height. 74" Condition: There are some age-related some scrapes to the doors, stable age cracks and stains to the slant front, scratches to interior surfaces, some veneer losses, wear to writing surface, chip to lower frame on the right. The aforementioned is for accuracy as the presentation is fine and strong. Please see photos for details.
