Late 18th Century Swedish Black Painted Pine Secretary

About the Item

This pine secretary reflects the understated grace of Swedish styling in the late 1700's.  The original black painted finish has been scraped, revealing the warm aged pine patina below, creating a timeless appeal. At some point, interior was painted a contrasting light blue/gray (also distressed to reveal the pine below). The graceful long cabriolet legs add a touch of romance to the simple, clean lines of this secretary. The traditional interior with multiple drawers and cubbies offers a perfect space to organize. The desk op opens and rests on two extending/retractable arms.  Restored, all drawers function, desktop is solid and ready to be used and enjoyed. A single large key is included to lock and open the desktop. The same key will serve as a pull for the two exterior drawers. Please enlarge photos to appreciate the black painted finish, much distressed fiting the age of this attractive secretary. All age-related cracks (sides, top, back), distress, signs of wear are commensurate with age and do not impact the beauty nor function of this striking secretary or "bureau."
