19th Century Napoleon III French Mahogany Vitrine
About the Item
A 19th Century French Napoleon III vitrine, or display cabinet, made of solid and veneers of mahogany. Original blown glass paned door with working lock and key opens to two adjustable shelves. Bottom cabinet has working lock and key and opens to two adjustable shelves. Elegant proportions and subtle details with beveled corners and ebonized trim. Good craftsmanship using pegged construction. This cabinet was originally used as a store display. It is a good height for use as a pedestal for a statue or vase, show with a large jardiniere, sold separately. Perfect for display of collectibles or for use as a bar cabinet, with extra storage below for plates and glasses. Circa 1880-1900.
