About the Item

This beautiful midcentury Brutalist coffee table was made in the Netherlands circa 1960. The table has a relatively simple frame of solid square oak beams that are 2,8 x 2,8 inches. The beams were joined by lag bolts and are decorated with copper inlay. The coffee table's center panel features a solid copper plate that was patinated and shows a beautiful pattern. The copper panel is 20.28 inches wide and has a length of 53.54 inches. It was fixed to a thick board of plywood by the use of rivets. The beams have a copper band inlay. The copper band is decorated with many small geometric designs hammered in. The oakwood was brushed to bring out the grain in the wood. It was stained in a warm brown color and finished with varnish and wax. This unique table was gently cleaned in our atelier. The table is solid, clean, and ready for use.
