Antique Early 19th-Century Rustic Spanish Warm Brown Chestnut Coffee Table

About the Item

This beautiful warm brown color rustic coffee table or low table originates in rural Spain and dates circa 1820. The table has a fantastic top that was made from two boards of solid chestnut wood 1.38 inches thick. The top has a beautiful grain pattern with warm brown color and features many small scratches, two inserts, dents spots, and other marks of use. The top was joined to the base with hand-forged steel nails. The table base has simple, square, slightly tapered legs, and features a single drawer. The drawer has a small trim surround and features a wood drawer pull. It is equipped with an authentic lock and oval keyplate. The lock is fully functional and the original key is provided. The table has a beautiful color with a great patina and deep gloss. The grain pattern of the chestnut wood is visible throughout all the wood on this table. The table was gently cleaned in our workshop and a new protective wax coat was applied. The piece is very solid, clean, and ready for use.
