About the Item
From a research centred on the role of style within design, the RC01 console consists of three pieces displaying an extreme formal and structural reduction.
Two steel tubes are forming the base of the console onto which a marble plate is leaning, maintained by two custom-made steel bolts. All elements of the RC01 are intrinsic to its structure, there are no superfluous details and only the essential remains. The marble plate is cut to the edge of the base creating a radical composition that emphasises the purity of the materials.
Here, a Belgian blue marble plate is used to create a strong contrast with the steel base, other natural stones (pink and white onyx, quartz or other) are also available upon request.
RC01 is designed and entirely made by Johan Viladrich, it consists of a limited edition of 8 pieces + 2 artist proof and 1 prototype.
Each piece is signed and numbered and professionally packed.
