Large Brazilian Peroba Wood Executive Desk with Robustly-Carved Baluster Legs
About the Item
A Brazilian carved wood executive desk with two drawers, which has been fashioned from old, reclaimed wood. This vintage desk from Brazil features a rectangular-shaped three-board top, which overhangs an apron which houses two drawers that flank an arched sitting area along one long side. The apron is clean, with nice trim molding adorning all sides, making this piece ideal for being floated within a room. The table is raised upon four baluster-carved legs which terminate into squared feet. This piece has been custom fashioned from peroba wood, which is a tropical native hardwood to Brazil that is 35% harder than oak. Please note that there is some slight warping at the top of this piece, refer to images for further details. This handsome Brazilian desk, with it's 6.75 ft length, will make a great rustic-elegance statement piece floated within your home study or office.

An Italian wood trestle-leg table with forged-iron stretcher bars, from the 18th century. This antique table from Italy has clean, simple lines, and features a rectangular-shaped top, raised upon a pair of trestle sawhorse-style legs, with a wood brace supporting them just above the feet. The underside of the table is braced by a pair of hand-forged and twisted iron stretchers, which meet at the underside center of the top, creating visual interest and further embellishment to this piece. The walnut wood has has a warm patina with some cracks and prior repairs (see additional images) ; a reflection of it's history and age. The iron stretcher pieces unhook from beneath and allowing the legs to fold down- making the table collapsible and easy for transport. Leg clearance is approximately 28" between skirt and floor.
