About the Item

ITA: Sculptural wall panel designed by Nerone & Patuzzi and produced by Forme & Superfici in 1972. This is an unnumbered prototype, thus to be considered a unique piece. A few numbered specimens were made but it is unclear whether the entire edition of 100 pieces was made. The panel is made of stained ash with aluminum details. It is in excellent condition, fine original condition. On the front in the center are the signatures "Nero" and "Patuzzi" and the initials NP2 TORINO ITALIA. The NP2 group was an influential art collective that operated in the Turin area. Known for its innovative and avant-garde approach, the group made significant contributions to the art scene during its years of operation. Led by talented artists, including Nerone Ceccarelli and Gianni Patuzzi, Gruppo NP2 left a lasting impact with their unique style and creative endeavours. The group’s works often showcased a fusion of geometrical forms and abstract elements, captivating viewers with their artistic expression and experimentation. Ceccarelli was the creator of the works; he studied in Florence and Venice, the city where he met Carlo Scarpa, who had a great influence in the search for details and compositional balance. With their commitment to pushing artistic boundaries and embracing new techniques, the NP2 Group has played a key role in shaping the region's artistic landscape. Their artistic legacy continues to inspire and resonate with art enthusiasts, showing the power of collaboration and artistic innovation.
