A powerful and high quality Italian 19th century neo-classical st. giltwood, white Carrara marble, faux painted marble and patinated wood decorative wall plaque of a Roman Emperor. The plaque in centered by a wonderfully carved central white Carrara marble plaque of a handsome Roman Emperor. He faces to the left and is set on masterfully executed Campan Rubané background and framed within a mottled oval giltwood band and black marble border. Leading outwards is a striking intricately executed faux Porphyry design with richly carved giltwood rosettes, faux painted Vert de Patricia border and mottled patinated frame.
