Mid-Century African Warriors and Women Painted Glass Panels

About the Item

Utterly unique pair of Mid-Century Modern painted glass panels depicting African figures. The diptych features African warriors on one side, and women carrying water on the second panel. The captivating image is actually painted on glass panels… with micro-flecks of glitter throughout. Look closely to observe the subtle magic that is created with the glitter. Bigger, brighter, glitter is used to highlight the blue jugs, shields, and foliage. This piece truly captures the zeitgeist of the 1950s with it’s fascination of exotic cultures and novel design. The frame is a perfect specimen of 1950s aesthetic with it’s brass cross-bars, Atomic era form, and gold colored drizzle pattern. The pair are meant to be displayed side by side on a wall, but they can be hung independently. Dimensions: 16.125? Wide x .875? Deep x 34.25? High.
