About the Item

Stunning abstract square wall panel designed by Nerone Patuzzi, crafted from etched aluminum with a wooden backing, created by Forme e Superfici and belongs to a limited edition, with this specific piece marked as number 42 out of 200. It's important to mention that the full edition of 200 pieces may not have been created; the decision depended on how many were sold. Nevertheless, being part of an edition limited to 200 pieces already makes it quite unique. You can easily identify the artist's signature on both the front and back, and there's also a sticker providing information about its production and edition number. Nero Ceccarelli, born in Tuscany, developed a passion for art from his mother, a painter. He began exhibiting his artwork at a young age, gaining attention for his unique approach. He explored different artistic styles and techniques, including abstractionism. In the 1950s, he moved to Venice and later to Florence, where he studied renowned artists like Masaccio and Donatello. He also met Carlo Scarpa, an architect and designer, who influenced his work. His artistic journey led him to embrace multi-material abstractionism, inspired by artists like Antoine Pevsner and Naum Gabo. After military service, he settled in Turin and continued his studies on Bauhaus and constructivist art. He explored new techniques for materials, which became crucial for his work. He also worked as a graphic designer and met his future wife, Cosima Ghidone. In 1962, Nero founded the NP2 Group with Giancarlo Patuzzi, promoting the integration of art into architecture. The group organized exhibitions in the United States and Canada, expanding their artistic influence. Nero Ceccarelli's art was not confined to traditional studios but aimed to integrate with daily life, reflecting ideas about urban planning and societal impact. He is remembered as a "social sculptor" whose works transcended boundaries and reached diverse corners of the world.

Nerone & Patuzzi Zinc Headboard Panel, Italy, 1970s
By Nerone and Patuzzi
Located in Hellouw, NL
This Nerone & Patuzzi zinc head panel, produced in the seventies, stands as a remarkable example of artistic expression. Crafted by Nerone Cecciarelli and Giancarlo Patuzzi, masters of working with forms of zinc, this piece showcases a beautiful example of that. The zinc is skillfully treated with acid, resulting in an interplay of light across its surfaces, where smooth and shiny areas contrast with rough and dark textures. The head panel's design features lines that meticulously trace furrows and define distinct surfaces, each possessing a stark and essential geometry. The deliberate arrangement of shapes creates a harmonious composition that captures the viewer's attention. The artist's technique produces a relief effect, adding depth and dimension to the forms on the panel. Within this abstract artwork, one cannot help but notice echoes of avant-garde pioneers like Joan Miró and Picasso...
