In glorifying the rural life, Lauters has brought life to a simpler time, before the days of mechanization and technology. The peaceful pastoral scene depicts members of a rural family going about their daily business surrounded by the majesty of nature herself, with thatched-roof cottages for shelter, and carts powered by actual horsepower! Survives in its original frame and signed by the artist, it displays a remarkable state of preservation.
