A 19th Century portrait by Italian artist Fausto Giusto (1867 Naples-1941 Zurich) after a Renaissance painting by Titian entitled "La Bella". An exceptionally detailed portrait by a leading painter presented in a good gilt frame. Fausto Giusto was a prolific painter with a large body or work, mainly cityscapes, and genres scenes. Signed upper left. Oil on canvas, professionally restored in 1980. Circa 1890-1910.

Fausto Giusto
Fausto Giusto was a French painter with an international career. A large body of work signed by him was painted during the years of 1890–1910, much of this portraying international scenes with vivid color. Giusto painted cityscapes in Bern, St. Moritz, Naples, Ostend, Paris and elsewhere, as well as genre scenes, usually gallant scenes set in the 18th century for wealthy aristocrats. In cataloging a work offered at auction, Sotheby's noted "F. Giusto" as being an identified pseudonym for Eugène Galien-Laloue.
