Antique framed oil painting on board by Ludovic Janssen (1888-1954) is a splendid example of the Dutch painter's work, who specialized in post-impressionistic landscapes designed to add color and naturalistic beauty to any room! This example, which survives in its original frame, features a rainbow of natural earth tones from the blue sky to the sandy loam colors of the foreground. A wide variety of plant life indicates the wildness of the setting which inspired the work, with perspective expertly layered for an interesting visual effect.
