Charles-Louis Clerisseau (French, 1721-1820), a depiction of figures dancing amongst Classical ruins, gouache on paper, unsigned, framed. Being of the late 18th century, circa 1770-1790, this work is representative of Clerisseu's approach to the study of Classical architecture and ruins, with the main attention being given to the features and details present in the landscape.
