About the Item
Original vintage Danish oil on canvas painting depicting life at the countryside at a small holdning. The motive is houses, chickens and a human figure in a yard in front of the house. The grass is green and the sky is blue.
The motive is special in that it shows the backside of the house and not the usual entrance, underlining the authenticity of rural life. This pastoral theme is characteristic of the mid 20th century Scandinavian art, often celebrating national heritage and working life at the countryside.
The painting is signed and dated in the lower left corner. It has signs of age in form of a small hole in the canvas and spots of missing paint. Please see the photo collage.
