Early Antique Naive Madonna And Child, Original Portrait Painting, 18th Century

ANTIQUE ORIGINAL OIL ON CANVAS PORTRAIT PAINTING A charming folk art depiction of the Madonna and child. Probably continental in origin and dates from the 18th century. Framed and glazed in a later simple wooden frame. The heavy gauge canvas panel has at some point in its life been cut and then preserved under the glass of its current frame. There is historic wear throughout the painting which can be seen in the photos. As it currently stands everything appears to be stable. The amount of wear doesn’t detract from the overall decorative appeal of the piece and we think this adds to its charm and tells its story. Overall measurements 53cm x 43cm x 2.5cm.
