--Original frame, excellent original condition neoclassical
Scholarship: According to Sotheby's Old Master Department, the art scholar, Alain Latreille attributed this work to Lefevre. The sitters, the Clary Sisters, were researched and attributed by Osenat in Paris.
Provenance: Charles C. Patterson, New York and Paris, L'Antiquaire & The Connoisseur, New York, Collection of Lucille Kaye.
