About the Item
An especially lovely and fresh take on the Classic Europa and the Bull myth that so intrigued artists in the Art Deco era, this impressionistic study by Ezio Giovannozzi was probably painted in preparation for a major mural in Italy. The artist is famous for a series of murals he painted for Terme Tettuccio in Montecatini, one of Tuscany's most famous spa resorts built for wealthy Italians and visitors from around the world. This scene shows Zeus in the form of a white bull, spiriting Europa off to Crete, as the goddesses representing the Four Seasons watch from the Phoenician shore. The painting is oil on canvas.
