About the Item
Framed Oil Painting on Canvas by Flory Roland (1905-1978) is a splendid view of the quaint little community of Bellecombe in the Savoie region, equidistant from Geneva and Grenoble nestled in a valley of the Alps not too far from the Italian border. The abrupt elevations of the mountains envelope the little settlement, contrasted with color by the artist as well to emphasize the lush greenery of the valley compared to the harsh rocky terrain surrounding it. Survives in its original distressed painted frame.
