This is a truly fantastic painting by G. van Rampelberg, made in the early 20th century in Flanders, Belgium. When you look at this painting you are viewing a wonderful and very well painted scene; a group of elderly men chatting and discussing on a village green. It is called 'Gewichtige Bespreking' which means something like 'A Very Important Discussion'. A typical Belgian scene, but we think very relatable in every other part of the world.
It is painted in a very distinct and precise style. It is both very detailed and precise, but also strangely naive in a way. It is a very special painting indeed.
