About the Item

This antique hand painted portrait is unsigned, but done in Europe, most likely Austria or Italy in circa 1890 in the period Victorian style. This well executed portrait depicts a young female in period dress with wind blown hair and her blouse provocatively blowing slightly open to expose a glimpse of her shoulder. This antique porcelain plaque is sizable being almost seven inches in height and once had a hook to hang it, but could also be framed if desired. The plaque has no indication of its maker, but has a series on numbers on the back as presented in the photos.
